Launch and strengthen cohort-based support programs while building trusted local partnerships and demonstrating measurable participant outcomes.
2027 - Strengthen Community Support
Expand partnerships with employers, sponsors, and community organizations while increasing access to financial literacy, workforce navigation, and individualized support.
2028 - Grow the Team & Expand Regionally
Begin building a small team of navigators and guides, coordinators, and community partners while thoughtfully expanding into neighboring communities across Montgomery County and the surrounding region.
2029 - Develop Long-Term Pathways
Create stronger connections between workforce opportunity, mentorship, family stability, and community leadership while deepening community partnerships and participant support systems.
2030 - Build a Sustainable Community Model
Establish a sustainable, partnership-driven model that can be adapted in other communities while continuing to grow the team, strengthen partnerships, and increase long-term impact for families.

most led by single-mothers with:
- Lower incomes — nearly half of married households
- Poverty rates nearly 3x higher
- Time poverty and fragmented systems
- The benefits cliff — where a raise or new job can trigger the loss of Medicaid, childcare, food support, etc. faster than income grows, leaving families worse off despite doing everything right
Stability remains out of reach — not because of a motivation gap, but because of a systems gap.

Next Play is a guided support model helping single-mothers build financial stability through work -- moving through three stages:
- Align: Strengths-based goal-setting and guidance to build stability and momentum — and cliff-aware resource mapping to identify the right pathways forward.
- Connect: Linking participants to employers, training programs, certifications, and apprenticeships that meet a cliff-aware threshold -- opportunities selected because they build net financial position, not just immediate income.
- Sustain: A structured transition, not an abrupt end. At the conclusion of the 10-week pilot, weekly support tapers to 30- and 60-day check-ins, maintaining presence while promoting independence.
Next Play is a guided bridge between effort and sustainable opportunity.
